In 2019, Canon FilmFIVE Festival Short Film Competition collaborated with National Council on Problem Gambling, Canon seeks to bring awareness on problem gambling among the youths today. Teams would be judged based on their cinematography skills, story originality, technical qualities, relevance, and audience engagement. Our team entered under the open youth category, for participants aged under 30 and emerged as top 8.

Our team worked with Pastor Billy from Blessed Grace Chruch who helped connect us with Yen and William.
With our eyes covered in tears as we stood behind the camera, our team captured the story of how William fell into heavy debt, as a result of his gambling addiction while his wife, Yen, unconditionally stayed by his side. The couple struggled through these tough times and eventually sought refugee in Blessed Grace Church after they found peace through Christianity. The video, titled Real Love, brings light to their endless love even through the toughest of times. Yen and William are still happily in love and hope their story would be able to encourage other addicts to seek help and step into rehabilitation.

In this project, I took on the role of a videographer and overall producer to ensure both my team and another team from Republic Polytechnic met with the deliverables.
